My mounts on my 06 V70 D5 need replacing, due to the famous popping. When I drive the car and it comes onto boost it’s like I have two stages of boost or like it’s surging would this be down to the loss of vacuum do you think?

Great informative video, thanks i watched yours and 3 others to pick up all the tips... just changed mine at 200k, last change 95k so belt did 105k and still all parts working well but new ones generally a little better... did waterpump which was a pain, most of the baked gasket stayed on the block and it's impossible to see all the mating surface to ensure none left behind... took maybe 3 hours just for that... had to take phone pics to see how the unseen was coming and work by feel.... painful and a couple of nails mashed where i tried lifting it that way... after that, maybe 2 1/2 hrs putting it all back leisurely, new pulley and tensioner too... so good for another 105K ! if you get the tensioner right and then make sure the belt is snug on the crank teeth (i locked crank with torque wrench) and get the tension right up to the cam, then it falls into place quite easily... thanks again, yours was one of the best, the impact gun advice ideal.... i couldn't move the crank nut with a 3/4 bar with extension and then a long pole which dutifully bent... so that wasn't going to work... bought a cheap gun that claimed 520nm and that couldn't do it.... neighbour had 1000nm De Walt gun and that did it like it was nothing... shows good tools matter invest in the best for critical work...

Took mine off and it's a mixture of destroyed circuits covered in battery acid, so threw it in bin , as new ones to expensive for a part that may never be used, used ones will be probably be in the same condition as car getting on bit 😔 just have to ignore the welcome message every switch on.

Buongiorno a tutti, ho un problemino alla mia Volvo v70 163 Cv del 2003. In pratica solamente con la 4 e 5 marcia non supera i 2500 giri e va in recovery.( Assistenza urgente motore). Inoltre è come se facesse un giro di troppo per accendersi. A qualcuno è capitato? In settimana la porterò in officina.

Your video's are extremely usefull. Gonna be replacing swirl flaps on my v70 D5 from 2006 however i got injector 1 completely stuck, even the local volvo garage tried to help me getting it out but they couldn't. I'm at the stage where i can spin it about 30° both clockwise and anti clockwise, spraying penetrating oil every day and it will give at some point. Bought me a set like you're showing in this video, however it also came with brushes that fit in the bore hole and smaller ones for the clamp screw holes aswell. When cleaning the bore with brushes i was thinking about trying To plug the hole where the nozzle goes through, perhaps too risky my plug might fall through into the cilinder? Also the mechanic at Volvo told me that spinning a stuck injector is dangerous as it might unscrew the nozzle assembly, what are your thoughts about that? I think as long as i dont spin the injector more as 30° it shouldn't be possible for the nozzle assembly to come appart. Many thanks for your video's, you're good at explaining things. I have auq engine boost come and go and have missfire at steady throttle 1500-3000 rpm. Most when engine is too hot when is cold work almost every time.full bosst without bost on boost off like push the petal and leave and push again we can find what is the problem new plugs new coils bypass n249 nes n75 new blow-off valve

Hi, so thankful to you.... I have an XC90 (2013), I found myself unable to refuel as the cap would not open... went to Vovlo, they sorted it and told me i should book the car in for them to look at it and fixed it... Estimated cost £500.... MOT due so have to have it fixed.... Lucky for me I found your video, and went to put some oil on the mechanism.... didn't even need to open the white casing. It is all fixed now.... And I have cancelled my visit to the garage.... You just saved me £500.... Thank you!!! I am so grateful!

Does anyone know how the newer versions of these valves that dont have the thin metal lip come apart? Seems to be pressed or glued in perhaps?

Amazing video, thank you. My issue is with the line connected from the solenoid the VNT arm drops all the way down and the car shuts off. Disconnect the vac line, the car idles fine with no boost.

This is good info. I would think you should have a wine cork or similar to prevent grit and stuff from falling into your cylinder whilst cleaning... Cheers from DK

soo say if an air gun and breaker bar WITH a counter hold tool from CTA and the nut is still stuck and won't even move at all. what should a guy do? my crank seal is leaking more an more. Can it be cut off? or chiseled off? not ideal but if I can't get it loose before the seal goes out then I am screwed either way.. It has me feeling like I am loosing my mind I have tried so much with no success 😮‍💨

Both lower control arms are worn out on my volvo xc70 2005 model. The mechanics wanted 900$ for the work I haven't fixed it yet. Is that too expensive

Lovely guide. Opened up the starter on my '78 Honda CX500 and it was black with grime and carbon buildup. Positive contact was grounding with case. Hopefully a good cleaning does the trick.

Please, is the tester similar to that used by vulcanizer?
